Training-weekend in Germany

An introduction to allround hunting skills

German hunter and Bracco Italiano-lover Harald Koska has invited Vicini del Monastero for a training weekend near the German city of Münster. We have taken this opportunity to arrange a training weekend for Bracco Italiano owners. It will be an allround training experience led by two very experienced instructors. To participate no prior hunting- or field trial-experience is needed. We have organised this trip in the same manner as our training-trip to Italy, last autumn. We offer a total package which includes two days of instruction, hotel accommodation and meals. Our aim is to keep the costs at a minimum, to give every Bracco Italiano-owner the opportunity to participate. If you are interested, don't hesitate too long. We can only accommodate fourteen dogs (one per application -individual or couple-) and we have already received the first applications.

Program

We meet on Friday evening October 5, between 18.00 and 19.00 in Hotel Restaurant Beverhof in Ostbevern, for an evening meal and a theory instruction by Paul de Vos, writer of hunting books and articles, and qualified gundog trainer. Saturday we split up in two groups. One will be led by Paul de Vos, who focuses on retrieving skills. The second group will be accompanied by Gianpaolo Poggio, who will instruct the participants in field work (searching and pointing birds). On Sunday the groups switch trainer. We conclude the weekend with a training match, where all participants can show their newly acquired skills. The match will be watched by the local hunters who kindly let us use their hunting grounds and who are very interested in seeing working Bracco Italianos in real life. After the match we sit down together for an evening meal. For partners who don't share the interest for training the Bracco Italiano, Harald has a number of suggestions for an interesting day in and around Münster.
