A grape from Piëmonte.
Dry, somewhat tangy and full of character.
Barbera was the
first born bitch and the second puppy. Because of an eight-shaped
spot on her head we called her Eight.
Vernaccia dei
Vicini del Monastero
A grape from Sardinia. Light,
sparkling, but full with taste
Vernaccia was the second
bitch and the third puppy. The first sign of recognition for
us was a white strip between the shoulderblades.
Lacrima dei Vicini
del Monastero
Named after Lacrima
Christi (the tear of Christ), a wine from the grapes that grow
on the slopes of mount Vesuvio. A wine with the taste of fruit
and the scent of flowers.
Lacrima was the
third bitch and the sixth puppy. We called her Heart, on account
of a heart-shaped white spot on her forehead.
Delizia dei Vicini
del Monastero
Named after a large
wine-house near Venice.
Delizia, the fourth-born
bitch was the eight and last puppy. We recognised her by he
markings on her head.
Moscatello dei
Vicini del Monastero
A grape from the
area near Ventimiglia, the Ligurian coast. Sweet and sparkling.
Moscatello was the
first-born puppy and the first male. He has a lot of white and
a T-mark on his head.
Brunello dei
Vicini del Monastero
A grape from Tuscany,
makes a DOC-wine: elegant, dry and well-balanced.
Brunello was the
second male and the fourth puppy. We recognise him by the coat,
which is completely orange.
Barolo
dei Vicini del Monastero
One of the most
famous Italian grapes. Comes from the area southwest from Alba,
Piemonte. A DOC-wine: dry, full and with a velvet texture.
Barolo was the third
male and the fifth puppy. We called him From ear to ear, on
account of an orange band between his ears.
Verdicchio dei
Vicini del Monastero
A well known grape
from the province Marche. A DOC-wine: dry, fresh and harmonious.
Verdicchio was the
fourth male and the seventh puppy. We recognised him by three
spots on his right-flank.
